Descriptions:

CaF2 or Calcium Fluoride is a cubic crystal with an excellent transmission from 130 nm to 10 μm and has widespread applications as transparent windows in the ultraviolet and infrared spectra.Calcium fluoride(CaF2) is a very important optical functional crystal, which has good optical properties, mechanical properties and chemical stability. It can be used as optical crystal, laser crystal and inorganic scintillation crystal. It has a wide transmittance range (0.125-10 μm), and is widely used as optical medium from vacuum ultraviolet to mid infrared. CaF2 crystal is an ideal optical material for achromatic lenses because of its special refractive index and relative dispersion. At present, deep UV excimer laser lithography is developing from 193 nm to 121 nm. CaF2 single crystal has the advantages of good ultraviolet transmittance, high laser damage resistance threshold, low stress birefringence and high refractive index, which makes it the best choice for the research of deep UV excimer laser lithography. In terms of laser applications, laser diode pumped CaF2 crystals activated by Er3+, Tm3+, Yb3+ and other 3-valent rare earth ions were obtained at room temperature.

Main application:

1) VUV , UV ,IR optical systems

2) CaF2 crystals used for stable femtosecond white light generation from UV to IR.

Why Choose HGO ?

HG OPTRONICS.,INC. has the ability to supply high quality CaF2 or Calcium Fluoride Crystal in mass production quantity. Material from HGO features with high transmittance in UV and IR wavelength ranges. HGO offer supplies [001] cut (i.e. the surface is perpendicular to the [001] axis) high quality CaF2 windows for continuum generation. CaF2 windows cut along a random orientation and polycrystalline CaF2 windows are also available. In addition, we can also produce other types of window crystals like YAG crystals, BaF2, MgF2,LiF Crystals, etc.

HGO has a mass-production line for CaF2 crystals and have wide experiences and strong ability to supply such crystals with large quantity and in very short delivery time.

LiF crystal lithium fluoride

HGO grows LiF crystals in house using Czochralski technology. LiF crystal or lithium fluoride crystal is an optical material with outstanding transmittance in VUV region. It is also used for windows, prisms, and lenses in the visible and infrared in 0.104µm-7µm. LiF single crystal is sensitive to thermal shock and would be attacked by atmospheric moisture at 400°C. When working at a high temperature of 600°C, the LiF crystal softens and is slightly plastic, so it can be bent into radius plates. In addition irradiation produces color centers. Hence, users should take measures to protect LiF crystals from moisture and high energy radiation damages. What is more LiF can be cleaved along (100) plane and less commonly (110) plane. The optical characteristics are good and yet the structure is not perfect and cleavage is difficult.

IR Windows Silicon Windows
Silicon Windows

Silicon is used as an optical window primarily in the 3 to 5 micron band and as a subsrate for production of optical filters and windows.     Silicon (Si) is grown by Czochralski pulling techniques (CZ) and contains some oxygen that causes an absorption band at 9 microns. To avoid this, material can be prepared by a Float-Zone (FZ) process. Optical silicon is generally lightly doped (5 to 40 ohm cm) for best transmission above 10 microns, and doping is usually boron (P-type) and phosphorus (N-type). After doping silicon has a further pass band: 30 to 100 microns which is effective only in very high resistivity uncompensated material.

A properly delivered femtosecond laser pulse interacts within the target leaving the surrounding area undisturbed. Newly developed femtosecond pulsed lasers micro-machine complex fine structures in glass, metal and other materials. Active waveguides can be written below the surface, integrating optical devices within the body of a substrate. Defects in photomasks can be repaired without disturbing neighbouring patterns. And it is now possible to achieve cellular resolution in vivo for medical diagnosis with femtosecond pulse lasers.
